I wanted to provide a small amount of information regarding this tropical storm likely to be a named storm in a day or two. It appears it is similar to Debby and Idelia. We will keep a close eye on it.

As always be prepared for power outages candles, but flashlights are preferred as candles are, or can be, a fire hazard if not used properly. Get propane tanks filled for cooking if you have a grill. Water is a necessary item because without power we have no running water unless you have a generator. I would start generator and check fuel for it so it's not a surprise when the generator doesn't start.

As we monitor this tropical storm, we all know our island floods rather easily.
|
- Do not run electric carts through standing water. The salt water can cause batteries to fail and catch fire. Please park carts that have gone through standing water away from structures.
- Do not approach an electrical box these will most likely be under water and will become a hazard until disabled remotely or LCEC can make it to the island.
We will continue to staff the station until we receive evacuation orders. It is a good idea if you have a home to go to until the storm passes it is recommended.

Those of you who are property managers please assure the homes you manage are buttoned up no items out and about that can be tossed around with heavy winds. General Contractors please tie items down that can become projectiles.

Again I will do my very best to continue to update the community as I receive updates.
