We as a community can overcome anything mother nature throws at us.... We have had a very productive day I would like to share with those subscribe to the email list.

Chief Schultz of EOC who y'all will meet via zoom tomorrow was a huge help and guided me on how to obtain specific needs for our community. Here is what we currently have coming to the island.
|
- Two commercial trash pumps with hose and fuel to help remove standing water. A trash pump is a submersible pump that's designed to move liquids that contain solid or semi-solid materials, like sewage, sludge, and other waste materials. We need approval or guidance from officials on where to pump standing water. I am still waiting on a call but having the proper equipment in place and ready to use is key.
- Two front end loaders to remove any sand deposits.
- Two metal dumpsters for lithium and lead batteries to be disposed of safely.
All this equipment will be delivered to the island after noon tomorrow.
LCEC seems to have made some more progress in getting power turned on towards the North End. Just for clarification, I have not, nor would I or anyone at the fire department, restrict access to any part of the island.

We will have a crew out here from the county in the very near future to determine how much damage each individual home sustained as part of emergency operations process, but until the whole island is able to be reached safely they can not come out. They are from Code Enforcement.

As always, please contact me with any questions. I am always willing to answer questions and if I do not have the answer I will research it and get back to you. A huge thank you to Crystal, Duncan, Alex and Noah for your efforts and brainstorming! We make a pretty great team if I do say so myself! And to everyone else who has sent out ideas or helped facilitate things you guys rock! It really does take a village.

I am sure I failed to mention something but believe me I spent no less than 6 hours on calls today, not to mention the incredible team that I’m working along with, to improve our community’s situation after this hurricane. Please reach out to me directly with any questions.
