Hello subscriber,

Good Sunday afternoon to everyone! Our Upper Captiva Fire District and Civic Association are hosting another joint Zoom call on Tuesday night (10/29) at 7 pm to provide and island update on repairs made to our roadway easements and the procedures in place for debris removal, amongst other topics.

The illustration found by clicking HERE summarizes the process for debris removal. As a reminder, mixed debris piles will not be picked up. Landscaping/vegetative debris, appliances and white goods, and construction/demolition debris must each be in their own pile along the side of the roadway easement. We will have a procedure in place to stage hazardous materials at the fire station in specified containers. More information to follow on Tuesday.

Other important information: Please do not place debris within 10 feet of an LCEC transformer box. Please ensure that when placing debris along the road you leave enough space for emergency vehicles to pass by. Also, Black trash bags will not be picked up. Bull bags will not be picked up. Refrigerators should have the doors removed for safety concerns.
