UCFRD
Hello subscriber,

I am sure everyone is watching the news and now knows Lee County has been declared a state of emergency in anticipation of the tropical system making its way into the Gulf of Mexico. I am hoping for the best outcome, which is avoiding our island entirely …though I am also realistic. We will definitely have heavy winds and storm surge. Some parts of the island are already saturated and have standing water. Please be careful.

We have been notified that the last Island Girl Charter will be 11am Wed. ICNC stated they will cease operations with a sustained 30mph winds. Until we are told to evacuate by emergency operations officials, we will man the station.

If you intend on staying, please notify the UCFRD station by email: info@uppercaptivafire.org or by calling 239-872-2263.

Include:
➡️ your island location
➡️ all names and ages of people in the home
➡️ next of kin phone number and name

As always, it is in everyone’s best interest to be off-island during these times.
Thank you and stay safe,

Jesse J Cottrell
