LCEC has relayed to me that the entire island South of the airstrip has been energized you may see our firefighters riding around just patrolling the area. I am hopeful we do not have any issues with the power. If you should see or smell something "off" please call 911 and let us know. Thank you everyone for being so patient. We will continue to help bring our community back from a rough hurricane season. The folks working on the pathways are kicking some island A$$.

Advice relayed from Josh at LCEC: If you do not have power and you are currently at your home on the island and located south of the runway, please provide your street name and address to LCEC.

If you have a meter with a digital readout or see numbers and letters displayed on the LCD screen, it means your property is receiving power. LCEC has been turning off the main breakers at homes as a precautionary measure after the power was out for over a week.
Here’s what to do: 1. Turn Off All Breakers Inside the House: Before restoring power, go inside your house and switch off all the breakers. 2. Turn On the Main Breaker: If there is no visible damage to your electrical system, flip the main breaker (usually 200 amps) back on. 3. Inspect and Restore Power Gradually: Check each section of your house before turning the breakers for individual areas back on. If you have any water damage, especially in areas where wiring has been submerged or exposed to saltwater, leave those breakers off until the lines can be inspected by a professional electrician.
