Next week, the firefighters will be driving around the island in our fire trucks. Please don't be alarmed by this. Our team needs to make sure we can make it through the pathways that our island calls roads. We may come across a few areas that are tight due to over growth or landscape, which may have been pushed into the pathways. We need to make sure we have the ability to make it to your home or your neighbor’s home in case of emergency - Either fire or medical. We are here for the community.

You may remember the fire on point house trail. We ran into an issue making it to the home that was on fire, due to a small wall that surrounded the home. Although the wall looked lovely, unfortunately it created an obstacle for the fire truck to make that turn. I am sure no one on the island wants to create an obstacle for the fire district intentionally.

That being said you may see us out and about and we may have to reach out to homeowners asking for their help to widen the pathway in areas where improved access needs to be gained. Should anyone have any questions regarding this activity or other items, my door is always open and I am willing to chat with you.
