The Florida Department of Emergency Management is conducting a debris removal town hall with the community tonight. A lot has changed with the State taking over the program. Most processes are the same, but there has been much back and forth to get this project going and they want to be able to answer community questions.

We encourage you to attend TONIGHT, Wednesday, December 21st at 6:30 pm ET for a Zoom call moderated by UCCA President Swin Swinford. The Upper Captiva Fire and Rescue District along with The Upper Captiva Civic Association will engage with state representatives tasked with the island debris removal project. UCFRD Chair Duncan Rosen will give a brief department update regarding the recent staffing concerns and its impact on public safety. Please note that the purpose of the zoom call is to talk about the debris removal process.
