Hello subscriber,

Another couple of reminders:

Lithium Batteries are a huge fire risk. Please understand the signs of a battery that is bad....
1. Swelling of battery
2. Battery making odd noises
3. Smell or Smoke an off smell
4. Battery getting hot
5. Battery not charging completely

We had a 911 call for a smell of smoke in a resident. The lead batteries in a golf cart housed in a garage began to off gas and smoke. So it's not always lithium batteries. I understand we want to have transportation around the island we need to be aware of these golf carts potentially catching fire. This cart was not plugged in.

Water and electricity don’t mix. Because electrical hazards may linger after flood waters recede, it’s important to take precautions before, during, and after flooding takes place.

Thank you and stay safe,
