Hello subscriber,

I know everyone wants to come and inspect their property. I know everyone wants to come and inspect their property. You have every right to do so. As a community coming together, we are clearing roads trying to clean up debris and water that is sitting.

Alex from UCCA has a small group of guys who are working together to help make traveling around island manageable and safer. Duncan will be here tomorrow to help Alex. I have firefighters coming out in the morning as well so we can get back to providing medical and fire protection services to the island residents. Please be patient, take a breath, and allow us some time to make the island safe to maneuver about.

On Sunday, October 13th at 11am the UCFRD and UCCA are holding a joint hurricane Milton recovery meeting, yet again 😡. Milton severely damaged the houses directly on the Gulf of Mexico and those close to the gulf. Storm surge was at higher levels than Hurricane Helene. The island has a long road of recovery. We will give island updates after we go up and down every street. We will also try to our best to get an update from LCEC.

Please join us via zoom. Zoom link:

I look forward to seeing everyone on a zoom call just to touch base as we did with Helene. Communication is key to how we can move forward and get items needed to have our island back to some sense of normalcy. I do not want to slight anyone who is helping in making this place suitable for homeowners and visitors so if I don't mention you please know you all are appreciated.

Sending our thoughts to those who were impacted by Hurricane Milton.
