Joe Sanderson - Division Chief
Joe C. Sanderson II is the Deputy Chief of Fire and Training at Upper Captiva Fire & Rescue District, with over 14 years of experience in EMS leadership and special operations. He is an accomplished operational leader, noted for his proficiency in technical rescue, clinical education, and field training.
Joe has directed squads during hurricane responses, coordinated complex medical evacuations, and traveled to the Azores to represent the United States and the department’s extrication team, earning multiple honors, including ten Phoenix Awards for cardiac arrest resuscitations and Firefighter of the Year.
As a certified Fire Officer II, Live Fire Instructor, and instructor for Handtevy, ACLS, and BLS, Joe is dedicated to advancing prehospital care and training standards within the community.
