Steve graduated from DePauw University and Indiana University Law School, Indianapolis. He is retired from the practice of law in Hamilton County, Noblesville, Indiana. He is a Past President of Hamilton County Bar Association. Steve also served as a Hamilton County Commissioner for twenty-four years. He has been a lifelong Scouting volunteer, served as Scout Master and Webelos Den leader twice. Past President of Areas in Central Region BSA and President Crossroads of America Council, Indianapolis. Steve is past member of Conner Prairie Museum Board, Past Chairman of Hamilton County Community Foundation, former Trustee of Riverview Hospital, Senior Warden St. Michaels Episcopal Church and current board member and Past President of the Michigan Maritime Museum, and twice Past President of the Cicero Kiwanis Club. He currently serves as President of the Covert Resort Association, Linden Hills, Covert, Michigan. Steve is married to his wife, Emily. They have three children and five grandchildren and have enjoyed North Captiva since 2004.
