Administration
The leadership of the Fire District has been carefully selected for their experience and expertise in leading and organizing the delivery of effective fire protection and for the island community. All Chief Officers are trained to Officer II Level or higher with several certifications that include Blue Card Incident Management, National Incident Management System, and varying degrees in courses of study. In addition, there are a dozen staff that are on call to report to the island should a large incident develop which increases our available firefighting and support staff to respond to any type of emergency that might befall the island.
Staffing Model
Our staffing model includes the Chief or other Chief officer, a fire officer, and at least one Paramedic and Firefighter EMT on shift at all times. Each of the part time staff are full time professionals in their own districts, and have offered to assist us with staffing in a part time position.
