I can’t believe it’s Fall already! Where has the time gone? I’m looking forward to seeing our seasonal residents and wish you all a safe journey to the island!

First, I’d like to thank the citizens and board for passing and approving our Fiscal Year 2020 millage rate and budget. This was vital for our continuation of service, and our progress in providing the best service possible. I know the board and our financial staff have worked hard to make sure we work responsibly within our means. Again, many thanks to everyone who made this happen.

Second, I’d like to thank all of the citizens who assisted us with a large fire on 9/24/19, bringing it quickly under control. This was assured by the assistance of our citizens who were willing to help ferry firefighters and equipment to the scene, and return them to the ferry. Also those who helped hand lay supply hose to the gulf to ensure that we had a reliable source for more water. I cannot understate the importance you all played with these tasks. From myself and the staff here, a big “THANK YOU” to you all.

Lastly, we have received an overwhelming outpouring of thanks and support from the community the past weeks and throughout the past year. Your support makes it possible to do what we do. It takes the community working together to ensure safety and success. Thanks to you all, this is a reality!

Stay safe always,
